Natasha chose to study at UAL because she wanted to be part of a creative community. She visited Camberwell College of Arts at an open day and felt that the BA (Hons) Graphic Design course seemed creative, open and free, so decided to apply.
“We get experimental briefs and one of my favourites involved organising a fashion show. In groups, we designed everything from the set and sound, to promotional social media platforms. Putting on something so big gave us a chance to explore different areas of design we may not have considered before."
Natasha feels that there are always good opportunities to meet students from other courses to learn, collaborate and share skills, as well as practitioners from across the design industry.
“We have been set briefs by videographers, magazine editors and photographers. Being able to work with the support of people in various creative fields gives us a good taste of what life after university could be like."
Her advice for the next generation of students is to make the most of all the facilities, the technicians and the resources available to students.
"Go to as many shows as you can, take advantage of the city and learn from your peers.”
